Donavan Tate (born September 27, 1990) is an American minor league baseball player with the San Diego Padres organization. He was drafted 3rd overall in the 2009 Major League Baseball Draft.

Tate attended Cartersville High School in Cartersville, Georgia. He was drafted by the Padres third overall in the 2009 Major League Baseball Draft. Tate committed to play baseball and football at the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill, but chose instead to sign with the Padres for a bonus of $6.7 million.[1]
Tate is the son of former NFL tailback Lars Tate.[2]
